We Love Local and Why You Should Too

Locals know their towns the best. Whether it is a short cut, the quickest way to a restaurant or pizza and which is the most important. That pizza shop may not be a franchise or on TV, but it has the special marinara sauce and crispy crust.

Even though there isn’t a large ad budget, the owner knows almost everyone by name. The revenue generated goes toward the owners and employees, who ultimately help stimulate the local economy.

Maintain the Character

Supporting local provides a unique experience that is difficult to beat. Every community has its own atmosphere. Local businesses bring something creative to the table that is rare. When those who live in the area do not support these businesses, they are more likely to close their doors. This can drastically alter the character of the community and changing the feelings toward the town.

Better Access to Services

Everyone in town needs certain things like grocery stores, gas stations, coffee shops and auto repair. When these businesses are close and offer great service, then most people won’t want to travel far. Even though some may use the services for convenience purposes, this still gives the opportunity for a returning customer.

Pride in the Produce or Service

There is a huge difference between working for a local business and a national company. National businesses have to accommodate to a diverse group of people and cannot include a lot of personalization. On the other hand, a local business is has the chance to keep their customers satisfied. The local business has a strict budget and works hard to receive referrals.

Remember that pizza place that you can’t find anywhere else but in your town? Small Businesses in America keep your main street thriving and interesting. Staying local keeps your community economy thriving, maintains the character and keeps a pride of a quality product. After all, we are supposed to be a nation of go-getting, interesting people.
